We’re translating the Mado☆Magi PSP game.

It has come to my attention that some of you “absolutely require a status update or else you will die.” Here is the 2012/10/22 status update:

We aren’t dead and things are moving along. We are under-staffed. If you want to help make things move faster, leave a comment or email us. The most useful thing would be technical-based QC. Also, the workflow on this game is incredibly tedious, so we are also working on Steins;Gate BDs a fair bit recently to help take the edge off.

2012-09-06 Update: Sorry for slow release. Translator has been offline due to serious real life complications. (He is still offline.)

Cover scans are released. However, note that the raw provider’s scanner produces a nasty moiré pattern that is difficult to remove from the color dust jacket without having to essentially redraw the entire cover.

We did a hefty amount of a work on the cover, but unfortunately not much can be done about this kind of moiré pattern. It would be more effective to just scan the covers using a different scanner. We may re-scan the cover at a later date using a different scanner.

※ Also note that we are releasing two versions every chapter. One version has 1600 pixel height pages, while the other has 2100 pixel height pages.

We’re helping someone out by picking up this series since no other group has actually scanlated it.

Some new people were pulled onto tri4 because of this project, kind of.

If there are any comments that spell “Neptune” incorrectly when referring to the series, the posters of those comments will be banned.

All images are saved in PNG format for release.

Hi10P batch includes full series (+ audio commentary), drama CDs, notes, and various extras. Everything is TL’d by us unless otherwise noted in the batch’s readme file.

Audio/subtitle tracks are:
Audio Track 1: Main Dialogue, 2.0 FLAC 24bit
Audio Track 2: Audio Commentary, AAC
Subtitle Track 1: Main Dialogue, character-based color styles.
Subtitle Track 2: Audio Commentary translation.
Subtitle Track 3: Main Dialogue, colorless style.

Drama CDs are AAC audio, 8bit video (still images). Sunny Day Life is sort of special, a hardsubbed manga video originally created by nico user Darksideさん.

You can find supplementary (but optional) notes for every episode here. There’s also an article there that explains why we v2’d the entire batch. That article also serves as an error reporting page, so feel free to try to rip us apart.

Our scripts are all here. If you have any problems with the colorless scripts muxed into the episodes, try the ones in that directory.

Also, the Aoki Ume 4koma from the BD jackets can be seen translated by the Puella Magi Wiki in this gallery. We host an archive of them too. These strips have spoilers in them.

We’re still making TV batch. We’ll finish it sometime. Right now the hold up is that we need to retime our BD scripts to TV. And we hate timing.

We’re picking up the Minami-ke manga by Sakuraba Coharu beginning with volume 6 for REASONS.

We’ve changed the fonts starting with chapter 113 to fonts that we’ve wanted to change to for a while now (but we kept forgetting to change to them).

We’ve started translating the Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magika Nitroplus novelization, but it’s going to take us a little while to get into the workflow. A lot of dialogue is already TL’d, since it’s similar to the anime. You can expect actual releases sometime after the PSP game.
